A happy Salzburg team won the second game of the new Bundesliga season. In the first home game, Lijnders beat Blau-Wiß Linz 5-1 (2-1) on Saturday to celebrate a successful dress rehearsal for Tuesday’s second leg Champions League qualifier against Twente Enschede. Man of the evening Kluk turned the game around with three goals (15th, 34th, 62nd) after an early 0-1 deficit.

The Blue-Whites, a sort of “feared opponent” of the favorites with a 1-0 win and a 1-1 draw last season, took the lead through Nos (12th) but could do little to counter Salzburg’s unleashed in the end. Attack power. In the end, eleven openers Yeoh (73rd) and Pitstrup (77th) completed the impressive victory. After a 1-0 opening win over Austria Vienna, the Blau-Weiß suffered its first defeat.

Lijnders wanted “new energy sources” for the fight with the foreigner. Half a dozen others were given the chance, and Melberg, an 18-year-old Bundesliga debutant, was a real surprise at left full-back.

Bad memories came

As planned, Salzburg had more of the game in a fast-paced encounter and had a few half-chances, but after twelve minutes they were reminded of the previous season. He shot at goal after a high ball.

But Salzburg remained undeterred and continued to attack. Three minutes later, Kluk equalized 1-1 with a dry low shot from a good twelve yards after good preparation work from Tedic. With less than 20 minutes to go, Salzburg pressure and no concrete chances later, the Israeli finally turned the result on its head. Along with Rutkov, he connected through the middle and gave Kohli Schmidt no chance.

An eventful game

The home team continued to attack the Lincers, who were now very busy, with great speed. They were lucky not to concede more goals. Kluk was denied by Schmidt (38′), Yeo crossed for a corner (39′), and a penalty could have been whistled after a foul on Dakim. Defensively, the Bulls looked vulnerable at times, having moved a lot.

After the restart Salzburg continued unhindered and now the Linz pinpricks have been completely removed. Schmidt had to intervene against Yeo (48′), a slightly deflected Radkov shot went just wide (53′). After a while the bell rang again. Finally, Gloukh completed one of several penalty area combinations to make it 3-1. Substitute Nene then rattled the side netting (67′) and beat Schmidt (69′) with a shot, but Yeo’s shot could no longer be stopped. In the final stage, “Joker” Pitstrup was able to celebrate after a precise timeout from Kjergaard.
