At least one person was killed and a dozen wounded as a result of Russian shelling in the city of Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine. Military Governor of Kharkiv Ole Sinyehubov announced this in Telegram today.
According to Synyehubov, there were three impacts in several densely populated areas of the city. The damage was massive, with many tall buildings severely damaged.
Kharkiv is one of the cities hardest hit by the continuous Russian shelling of Ukraine. The previous evening, a large town near the border had been the target of a heavy bomb attack, killing several people and injuring more than 50.
Russia: Died in attack on Sevastopol
Meanwhile, the death toll rose in an attack on the port city of Sevastopol on the Russian-aligned Crimean peninsula. A Ukrainian missile attack killed at least five people, according to the Russian-backed administration. The number of injured has now crossed 100. First two, then three were said to have died.
One person was killed in a Ukrainian attack in Russia’s Belgorod region, local governor Vyacheslav Klatkov said. Also, three people were wounded in a drone attack on the city of Kryvoron, Klatkov wrote on the Telegram text messaging service.
Violation in the Kyiv metropolitan area
Two people were injured in Russian airstrikes in the Kiev area last night, according to Ukrainian reports. They were injured by falling debris, but did not need to be taken to a hospital for treatment, Ruslan Kravchenko, head of the region’s state administration, said in a telegram. Many buildings including residential buildings were damaged.
Russia fired three missiles, two of which were destroyed by Ukrainian anti-aircraft defenses, Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk wrote in a telegram. He did not comment on the third rocket.
