Two men and a woman were seriously injured by a runaway bull near Obervalz in the Styrian district of Mura on Saturday afternoon. Around noon, the animal broke through two electric fences and onto a neighboring property, where another bull was with a cow and calf. When the runaway bull’s 25-year-old owner and two of his neighbors tried to chase him away, he pushed all three to the ground, Styria state police said on Sunday.
At first, the family doctor treated the three injured. The 25-year-old was flown to the Klagenfurt clinic by C99 emergency medical helicopter. A 71-year-old neighbor was taken to UKH Kalwang and his 64-year-old wife to a hospital in Frisach. Meanwhile, the two bulls fought and the fleeing animal fell over a water barrier several meters high and got injured in the stream bed. After consulting with the owner, the bull was shot by the hunter.
