So the city needs a free music festival like “Live in Salzburg” so that local artists deserve the stage and media attention,” said curator Lucas Holzmann. “Live in Salzburg 24” starts on June 28 with music of the “dance electronic” genre directly on the patio of the Mirabel Palace. In addition, the Kurgarten, the Hans-Donnenberg-Park, the amphitheater of the Paris-Lodron University of Salzburg and the Nonntal University campus are also event venues for various concerts on the show.
In addition, as usual, on two weekends (August 30 and 31 and September 6 and 7) there will be a big stage at the Volksgarten where, among others, Steaming Satellites, Thorstein Einarsson and AVEC will perform. On the last day of the concert series at the Volksgarten, the audience can also look forward to a surprise guest.
The band competition is powered by AKyoung
Another constant point of the show is the band competition, where musicians can qualify for one of a total of 4 places on stage at the Volksgarten. Bands can participate by June 15. and 20.7. Many benefits of active participation

In more than 30 workshops in the summer program, children and young people can, for example, try climbing, improve their body control in handstands, juggling and movement workshops, how to stop violence or try a RAP song.
Lehner Park turns into a playground
Lehener Park is once again an integral part of “Live in Salzburg 2024”. On September 3rd and 4th, the park area will be transformed into one big amusement park for kids and the young at heart. Last year, a large bouncy castle, water slide, slackline, badminton and more were created with play areas that enticed kids to spend the day at Lehner Park. These stations are used in a tried and tested way by the employees of the Spektrum, Streusalz and Kinderfreunde associations.
Six evenings of summer cinema at the Salsock and Volksgarten
The summer cinema is an official part of “Live in Salzburg” this year. The must-see films – including “The Fox” and “The Worst Man in the World” – will be shown again for a total of six dates at Salsacchi and Volksgarten.
