The Israeli army reported heavy shelling from Lebanon yesterday. About 55 missiles were fired at Israel from a neighboring country, the Israeli military said. Some were intercepted and the rest fell in open areas. There were fires in some areas.
The army reported that there was another rocket attack in the evening. About 40 missiles were fired at the border, the army said. Additionally, several missiles were identified. Some of them were intercepted by air defenses and some landed in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. Initially there were no injuries.
Hezbollah: Responding to Israeli fire
Hezbollah in Lebanon reportedly fired “intense rockets” at Israeli military positions. This was in response to Israeli attacks yesterday in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, in which at least eight people were injured.
Died in an Israeli airstrike
Israel retaliated to rocket attacks in Lebanon in the morning and evening. Four people were killed, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health. Two more people were injured in the attacks on Tajra village, the ministry said. It was not specified whether they were militants or civilians.
More than eight months since the Gaza war began, there have been daily military clashes between the Israeli army and Hezbollah fighters in Lebanon and other groups along the border. There were deaths on both sides, most of them from Hezbollah.
