Harris promises tax cuts for the middle class

At a campaign rally in North Carolina, Harris promised measures aimed at providing relief, particularly to the middle class.

US presidential candidate Kamala Harris laid out her economic policy lesson in a campaign speech. Democrats announced tax cuts for families and middle- and low-income Americans. During his appearance in the politically contested state of North Carolina, the incumbent vice president also promised other measures aimed at easing the burden, particularly on the middle class, if he is elected president.

As president, Harris wants to introduce a plan to ban predatory food prices nationwide. He also promised to offer $25,000 in down payment assistance to first-time home buyers. Many of their plans require approval by Congress, whose composition and majority will be voted on in the Nov. 5 election. Harris did not provide any details on how he planned to fund the projects.

Trump warns of “communist price caps”.

“Many people feel that, no matter how hard they work, it is difficult to get ahead,” the vice president said in his address. He praised the measures and improvements he and US President Joe Biden have implemented, but acknowledged that many Americans do not realize this in their daily lives. As president, Harris said he wants to focus on the economic security, stability and dignity of the middle class.

During his election campaign, Republican Donald Trump repeatedly blamed Biden and Harris for high prices in the United States. “If you think things are expensive now, it will be 100 times worse when Kamala is president for four years,” the presidential candidate wrote on his online site Truth Social after Harris’ speech. If Democrats implement “their communist price caps,” there will be hunger and poverty, Trump said. America will never recover from this. (APA/dpa)
