An 86-year-old Gmunden resident who had been missing since last Thursday has been found dead. Suffering from amnesia, the woman left the house unattended.
In Gmunden, just before 6pm on Sunday, a woman who had been missing from a pension and nursing home since Thursday afternoon was found dead. According to police, the pensioner was lying in a family’s garden. An 86-year-old woman suffering from dementia, who had only been living at home for a few days, left her home unattended. Prosecutor Wells ordered an autopsy.
An initial search operation involving several volunteer fire departments, police patrols, drones, a helicopter and search dogs was called off Thursday through Friday. The search operation continued on Friday and Saturday. The kidnapper was seen several times on video footage in the city of Kmunden, and lost track of her near the sea station.
