This year’s Salzburg Running Festival culminated on Sunday with the completion of the 21st Salzburg Marathon. Thousands of runners from 85 countries took part in the prestigious event on Sunday. The starting signal is fired at Stadtsbruck, and the finish line for all races is Max-Reinhardt-Platz.
Herzog won the Salzburg Marathon
In a remarkable comeback, three weeks after the marathon in Vienna, Peter Herzog won the title in his hometown on the 42.195 kilometer course with a time of exactly 2:21:44. Sabrina Exenberger was second fastest Austrian.
