Sturm opened the game with a good chance from the left wing into the middle, but Lightnier saved. Ride’s first chance with a throw-in from Havenar (5′). Cross followed up with a good long-range shot in the minute and a corner, but unfortunately missed the mark. In the 8th minute, Meyer’s ball went over the goal. SVR’s next good chance was good contact between Sane and Bajic in the following minutes.
The next SVR chance came in the 17th minute via Grosse’s corner: Sollbauer headed the ball just wide of the goal. Moments later, Cross was dangerous again in front of the penalty area, but Wohlmuth was blocked by the defence.
In the 23rd minute, SK Sturm crossed Horvath to make it 0-1. SVR then looked to press and Steerer (28′) attempted a bumper from the left, who was passed to Meyer and eventually the ball landed on Sane, whose shot was blocked by the cross defence. In the 31st minute, Sturm Cross turned dangerous again, but this time the Raiders’ defense stood in the way. But in the 32nd minute, Jatta crossed to make it 0-2.
Cross’ chance 0:3 (41′) was blocked in time, but Jatta converted a brace in the 43rd minute to make it 0:3 for SK Sturm Cross.
And then finally a goal for SVR in the 45th minute! Bumberger scored from 16 meters out to make it 1:3 at the break.
In the first minutes of the second half, SVR already had a good chance, but Graz goalkeeper Wohlmuth saved the ball. Cross made a dangerous move (53′) in the Wright penalty area, but Leitner failed. A few minutes later, Kross went down in front of the penalty area and was unable to convert SVR’s next chance.
In the 56th minute, Meyer sent a ball past Bumberger to Wollmuth, whose shot was unfortunately missed. SK Sturm Graz only had 10 men on the pitch after 60 minutes. The Sports Association then tried to press again, but unfortunately Cross couldn’t convert a good chance in the penalty area (66′).
Free kick for SVR after a foul on Wollmuth (68′) 72nd minute: Great chance with a shot on goal from Rasner, but unfortunately the score remains unchanged. Hevinar also failed to score with a header. Bomer had another free kick for Ryder in the 80th minute, but it went wide. Shortly after a corner landed in Wollmuth and the ball went over the goal.
Both teams still had a couple of chances until the final whistle. Wohlmuth had a good effort in the first seconds of stoppage time, but the Cross goalkeeper saved the ball, and even a free kick headed by Hevnar just before the final whistle could not change the score.
After six minutes of stoppage time, the cup win ended in a 1:3 home defeat to SVR and the Raiders were eliminated from the ÖFB Cup.
